Heidi McCullough

Parkville, MO

I have enjoyed making things with my hands ever since my mother taught me to crochet snowflakes with a tiny hook and cotton thread.  Several years ago, I discovered polymer clay, and lots of inspiration online!  Soon I was equipped with a pasta machine, blades, shape cutters, textures, powders, inks, and plenty of clay. An addiction had begun!

As an art medium, polymer clay may be the newest in our shop, but it's one of the most versatile. My pieces illustrate just a few of the myriad techniques possible with polymer.

I am a member of the Kansas City Polymer Clay Guild, where like-minded folks exchange ideas, share our works, and bring in internationally-known instructors for workshops. There’s so much to learn!

Although my current medium-of-choice is polymer clay, I also enjoy working with felt, paper, lino cuts, I'm a card-carrying member of the "She Who Dies with the Most Beads Wins" club, and I haven't forgotten how to crochet.

I live in Parkville, MO, where the husband, college kid, and three cats are inside, and the chickadees, nuthatches, tanagers, orioles and turkeys are outside. I sell my jewelry to support my birdseed habit!
